Are You Buying A New Or Used Bicycle Online?

Here are the reasons you should have 4WheelBikeShop assemble and tune it for you.

Most bicycle companies will say their bicycles are easy to assemble right out of the box. It may be manageable for a layman to install the handlebars, front wheel and pedals. However, there is a great deal of adjustments that need to be made to make your new bike safe and operational.

  • The brake calipers need to be centered and the pad position must be at the correct distance from the rim. To keep rim brakes from squealing the pads must be toed in correctly. For new disc brake pads to operate efficiently, there is a crucial “burn in process” that should be performed.
  • Brake rotors often need to be re-aligned from shipping.
  • The brake lever travel should be adjusted to fit the hands of the rider.
  • Brake cables should be lubricated to give them a smooth and inviting feel.
  • The front and rear derailleurs must be set at the proper limits. If not, the chain can shift into the spokes and cause major damage.
  • For proper shifting, the shift cables need to be “prestretched” and set at the proper tension to optimize shifting performance.
  • Derailleur cables need to be lubricated to give you smooth and precise shifting.
  • Hub, bottom bracket, and headset bearings need to be adjusted for bearing longevity and efficiency.
  • Wheels need truing and spokes need to be at the proper tension.
  • Seat post must be lubricated so that it will not become seized in the seat tube in the future.
  • Saddle needs to be leveled and torqued to proper specifications. This gives you comfort and assures it will not loosen on a ride.
  • All bolts need to be torqued to specifications to make sure nothing comes loose out on the road or trail.
  • Air springs and coil springs on suspension bicycles need to be set for the riders weight and riding style.
  • Tires need to be inflated to proper pressure. Tubeless tires will need sealant installed.
  • Shifters, brake levers, grips, handlebars and seat height must be adjusted to fit the rider.

Awesome service. It is so hard to get an appointment right now and I was able to right away with this guy. He fixed my bike up quickly & it rides very smoothly now. I was very impressed with his work & customer service. I would definitely recommend getting your bike fixed with him not just for the good work, but for the convenience too! Having your bike repairman come to you is sooo convenient. I will definitely contact again if I have any bike issues!

I bought a used bike and wanted to get some info on the bike, get the bike tuned up and re-tape the handle bars. Rick was super knowledgeable with everything the bike needed and not needed. We live blocks away from each other so that was great too. If you want to get your bike tuned up and looking and feeling great, THIS IS YOUR BIKE GUY! I will from now on call him for all my bike needs and questions I might have. Thanks a lot Rick.

Rick provides a great service. Arrived right on time and took great care of an older bike that needed a bit of TLC and turned it back into smooth riding machine. All for a fair price.
